Yangshuo, a scenic gem in southern China, is known for its stunning karst mountains, serene rivers, and tranquil landscapes. It’s also home to some charming cafes that offer the perfect escape for coffee lovers. Whether you’re exploring the famous Ten-Mile Gallery or simply soaking in the natural beauty of the area, these seven must-visit cafes in Yangshuo provide the perfect blend of great coffee, cozy ambiance, and picturesque views. Grab your bike or take a leisurely stroll to these spots for a relaxing, unforgettable experience.
📍 The Barn Coffee (谷仓咖啡)
Located not far from the entrance to the Ten-Mile Gallery, this cafe features a small South Asian style. Its large “Yangshuo” sign on the exterior and the surrounding rice fields and mountains make it a perfect photo spot. Their Osmanthus Latte is my personal favorite, and their roasted chicken wings are great too!
📍 Xi Shan (囍膳)
I can confidently say that their desserts are the best in Yangshuo—no competition! The cafe’s decor is refined, with plants that I personally adore. They also have a playful Labrador dog. Recently, their bougainvillea flowers have been in full bloom, making it a perfect time to visit.
📍 Xiang Yue Ting (相月庭)
One of the rare traditional Chinese courtyards in Yangshuo, offering a wide-open view and a seamless connection with the surrounding mountains. The old-fashioned charm here is strong, and it’s said that the sunset view here is breathtaking. I hope you get to witness it yourself.
📍 1Q84
Located on the top floor of a guesthouse, this cafe has large windows on three sides, allowing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. I can only imagine how comfortable it must be in the autumn and winter, basking in the sun while soaking in the tranquility of the valley.
📍 Shu Xia Coffee (树夏咖啡)
This is probably the most chill cafe in Yangshuo. Surrounded by big trees, with ginkgo leaves just starting to turn yellow, it feels like the perfect spot to relax. When the wind blows, golden leaves fall gently around you. Although it’s a bit further from the main tourist areas, it’s a peaceful retreat. The outdoor seating area is exactly what I picture when I think of a lazy, cozy time.
📍 Aixin Village Bakery (爱心乡村面包)
A charming street-side cafe located at an intersection, its vintage sign and chairs outside are great for photos. I’m a big fan of their signature mochi and their European-style bread is also delicious.
📍 Yi Chi Rice Field Coffee (一尺稻田咖啡)
The view here is stunning, with endless mountains and waves of rice fields stretching out. When we visited, there was a light drizzle, turning the landscape into a beautiful, misty blue. This cafe is a perfect place to unwind while enjoying the picturesque scenery.
